The larger Pacific striped octopus has a very unusual way of catching shrimp. As you can see in this video, from UC-Berkeley biologist Roy Caldwell, the octopus extends a tentacle toward and above a shrimp, before tapping it on the back. The shrimp tries to escape, right into the octopuses’ waiting arms.
